Intermediate steroid cycles
So, hopefully you’ve gone through the beginner cycle options and are now looking to advance to the “intermediate” tier. By this point, you should already understand the basic knowledge and preliminary cautions and considerations prior to engaging in a steroid cycle. As such, these precautions won’t be mentioned again. If you need to, refer back to the first and beginner cycles articles available on our website.
The first question to be answered here is what defines an intermediate steroid user? I can tell you right off the bat it’s not simply taking increasingly higher and higher doses of steroids. We’re going to define an intermediate steroid user as someone who has learned and developed the following traits:
- Knowledge regarding training and dieting, supplementation, drugs and possible side effects specially what to do in adverse situations;
- Experience – just knowledge isn’t enough, you must have put on the hours living this life;
- Understanding what to expect from a cycle and what it’ll mean to your body in both the short and long term;
- Mastery of your own body, how it responds to different stimuli, compounds and substances.
It’s important not to believe that advanced or intermediate users simply use very high or excessive doses of steroids. This will only lead to abuse. A steroid user should use just enough to reach their goals and have the desired effects. More often than not, higher doses will lead to more side effects and not necessarily better results. However, with that being said, users that have developed the aforementioned traits and know what they’re doing will often use high doses.
The most common steroids used in intermediate cycles are (in order from most suitable to less suitable):
- Testosterone (usually propionate, enanthate or cypionate)
- Dianabol
- Nandronole (decanoate “deca” or phenylpropionate “NPP”)
- Masteron (Drostanolone)
- Anadrol (Oxymetholone)
- Winstrol (Stanozolol)
- Trenbolone acetate
The two main points in an intermediate steroid cycle is that these drugs are generally used in a stack, meaning you’ll hardly see a single-drug cycle being labeled as an “intermediate cycle”, except for a few exceptions, such as a deca-only protocol (nandrolone-only) or a cruise phase with just testosterone. The other point is that if you’re comfortable with taking steroids non-stop, it might be a good idea to undergo a blast-and-cruise protocol in order to keep most of the gains and avoid the hormonal crash when stopping the cycle.
Intermediate Steroid Cycle Examples
- Intermediate Cycle Example #1 (12 weeks total cycle time)
Weeks 1-12:
Testosterone Enanthate at 250mg/week
Nandrolone Decanoate at 400mg/week
Weeks 1-4:
Anadrol at 50mg/day
- Intermediate Cycle Example #2 (12 weeks total cycle time)
Weeks 1 – 12:
Sustanon 250 at 500mg/week
Nandrolone Decanoate at 400mg/week
Weeks 1 – 4:
Dianabol at 30mg/day
- Intermediate Cycle Example #3 (10 weeks total cycle time)
Weeks 1-10:
Testosterone (any ester) at 250mg/week
Weeks 1-8:
Winstrol (injectable) at 100mg every other day (total 350mg/week) OR Winstrol (oral) at 50mg/day
- Intermediate Cycle Example #4 – Cut stack (12 weeks total cycle time)
Weeks 1-12:
Testosterone propionate at 100mg every other day (EOD)
Masteron at 50mg EOD
Trenbolone acetate at 50mg EOD
Intermediate cycles may also include a small dosage of growth hormone (HGH), such as 2-4iu per day. Now, as the athlete is more experienced, is a good time to understand what this hormone does to the body in synergy with the aforementioned cycles.
