Post-injection pain reduction techniques
Post-Injection Pain (PIP) is one of the worst things about having to inject Anabolic Steroids. Most of the time, PIP is minimal and subsides minutes or hours after the injections, but extreme cases of PIP can hinder our ability to exercise, walk and even sit!
Is pinning AAS really worth it if we can’t even live a normal life for a day after every injection? In this post, I will tell you what injectable AAS are most likely to cause serious PIP and what you can do to minimize it and fix it as quickly as possible!
THE AAS WITH THE WORST PIP
The AAS with the worst PIP are the following:
- Dihydroboldenone (DHB aka 1-Testosterone)
- Testosterone Suspension / Testosterone “No Ester” and basically any other AAS in its non-esterified form.
- Injectable Winstrol (and other orals in their injectable form)
- High-Concentration formulations of regular AAS (such as Test400)
As a general rule of thumb, the shorter the ester and/or the higher the concentration of an injectable formulation, the worse the PIP is.
Other factors that can affect the PIP of an injectable are the solvents being used (and how your body reacts to them), whether the muscle you are pinning into is “virgin” or not and how well you execute the injection.
HOW TO MINIMIZE PIP
With compounds like DHB, Injectable Winstrol and high concentration AAS formulations, your best option is to cut the solution with sterile oil.
In other words, add sterile oil (sterile, filtered grape seed oil is a commonly used option) to your shots (by pre-loading the syringe with it) to bring down the overall mg/ml concentration of the solution and reduce PIP.
With suspensions (like Test Suspension, Tren Suspension, etc…) you are better off heating up the vial by exposing it to hot water for a couple of minutes and shaking the vial before the injection.
If the PIP is still there and it is compromising your quality of life, take Ibuprofen to decrease the inflammation/pain and/or expose the area where you injected to hot water (or anything that can heat it up in a safe way) to decrease the pain.
If you just stick to the longer esters and you don’t delve in advanced formulations like suspensions and injectable orals, chances are you will never experience serious PIP (unless the quality of your AAS is low, your body doesn’t like the solvent or you are do not have a good injection technique).
If you do experience serious PIP, it may take some trial and error to find what AAS brands, esters, and PIP-reduction techniques work for you, but no one said the bodybuilding lifestyle was easy.
